We Are Back

Letters from the Editor — By Jordan Green on June 9, 2008 at 12:00 am

Ladies and gentlemen,
Thanks for sticking with us the last few weeks! It’s been crazy around these parts, and we regret not being able to provide you with consistent issues.
But, you see, I was busy. First, I got married. Here’s an incredible video Don Miller put together from footage he took. You can see me, Mindy, Penny Carothers, David Allen and, for a brief moment, Don.

After that, I drove a moving truck down to Southern California for my friend JoVo’s wedding. Then, we moved into a house we bought in Phoenix. Following that, we returned to Portland for Mindy’s graduation from OHSU medical school. I feel I’m living every Jewish girl’s dream, marrying a doctor.
So, I’m writing to you from my new home office. It has a picture of Mindy and a Greg Oden bobblehead. It’s also in disarray, which makes me feel at home.
Thanks to John Pattison for keeping things going while I’ve been away, and thank you for coming back to us after two weeks of no new material.
Our site, which we enjoy immensely, is due for some changes. The legion of Burnside editors got together (via email) and came up with a wish-list. In the coming months, you’ll see those come to fruition, and Burnside will expand. We’re very, very excited.
Thank you again for reading. You mean the world to us.
Sincerely,
Jordan Green
Editor-In-Chief
P.S. If you weren’t aware, Don started a bike trip across America. Mindy and I can’t wait ’til he swings through Phoenix. Keep track of his agonizing progress here.

    Hey Jordan!!!
I suspected you FINALLY got hitched! (Saw something in one of Don’s entries about a going away get-together for you two -where have I been to not know?!) And you guys are already in Phoenix?! Wow! Well, congratulations! I’m so happy for you — she’s beautiful, the wedding looked like fun! I’m sure you’ll be missed, but it’s great that Burnside Writers gets to continue thanks to the worldwide web.
So, best of luck. And keep hydated…that whole “it’s a dry heat” is bogus…one hundred + degrees is too hot anywhere!

Welcome to Phoenix!! You came at the perfect temperature. Too many people are lulled into a false sense of security by coming in January when its 75 degrees. Much better to face reality at 112 degrees (and rising)!
I’ve lived here forever so if you need directions to the closest coffee shop or anything let me know…

Congrats! Looks like it was so much fun! Love the acoustic version of Hey Ya. Where did that come from? I’m excited to see the changes to Burnside.
