Below are some articles, pictures, posts, and videos that made me think – or just brought a welcome chuckle - this week:
- Putting a face on the immigration debate.
- Creating a worship experience out of boiling an egg, or using the seemingly mundane activities of our lives to provide glimpses of the coming Kingom.
- Check out Henry Arnold and Ben Pearson (of A Million Miles in a Thousand Years fame) discussing their recent book, Kabul 24: The Story of a Taliban Kidnapping and Unwavering Faith in the Face of True Terror, about the capture of 24 aid workers in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2001.
- Jim Wallis with a “whole new approach” on Afghanistan. On a related note, read Matthew Hoh’s letter of resignation (the internet is a wonderful thing).
- Halloween this weekend kicks off the holiday season, but this year’s parties and presents don’t have to break the bank. Check out this article for ideas on how to save a little money and practice hospitality at the same time!
- Some adorable babies celebrating the International Day of Climate Action on October 24th.
- Looking for some Christmas gifts already? Great book recommendations on a holistic faith from Hearts and Minds for all you readers out there.
- Please tell me you’re not a scoot refuser.
- I’ve always been fascinated by those that refer to themselves as Luddites.
- As if I needed more reasons to waste time, check out the funniest people on Twitter (my personal favorite: “you know when your math teacher asked you to carry the 1? I still don’t know what that means.”).
