Everyone Here Is Babies!
Blog — By Jordan Green on November 10, 2009 at 11:24 amPlease forgive our tardiness/absence around here lately. It’s been an eventful couple of weeks.
We’d like to welcome two new additions to the Burnside family.
First, Ava Mae Adams was born October 7th to Jonathan and Kylah Adams. She was 6 lbs 7 oz (Jonathan was kind enough to translate that to the US metric system). If I might add, Ava Mae is a spectacular name. I love how “Ava Mae Adams” looks.
Then, on November 1st, shortly after the Oregon Ducks humiliated the USC Trojans on national television, my wife Mindy went into labor. Lana Gwendolyn Rose Green was born at 8:15 am. I know, four names is a little pretentious, but it was the result of compromise (I wanted just “Gwendolyn Rose”, but I’m happy with “Lana”).
Both entered the world healthy and relatively safely, though Lana had to be C-sectioned and came out with a swollen forehead that made her look like the Elephant Man for about 2 minutes, and which filled me with abject dread during that span.
Anyway, Jon and I are incredibly thankful and enormously proud our daughters, so we thought we’d let you know.
John Pattison asked me “What do you know now that you didn’t before your daughter was born?”
The first thing I learned was “I can do this.” The second was, “Breast milk diapers don’t smell much at all. Formula diapers smell like Satan’s anus.”
Now back to the grind!
