BruceCockburn1Below are some links and things from around the internets that made me think this week:

  • This poem made me wonder about what’s going on in my almost middle-aged husband’s head.
  • Listening to Bruce Cockburn and reflecting on what has been a rough year for so many.
  • An exhibit at the Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan puts the author in Rosa Parks’ shoes and causes her to reflect on what might be the civil rights issues of our day.
  • I’m a politics junkie, but I’m having trouble staying focused when it comes to the health care debate. I found this chart from the New York Times to be a helpful resource in explaining the House and Senate versions of the bill – in English.
  • Check out the photographs from this National Geographic article on Mount Athos, an ancient monastic community in northern Greece (the accompanying story is worth the read too). Who’s up for a pilgrimage?
  • For those of you out there preparing Thanksgiving, you must check out Mark Bittman’s 101 tips for the big meal.
  • Advent is just around the corner. It sounds like Advent Conspiracy, the new book written by the three pastors that founded the “practice” is a must read (two different reviews there for you) for the upcoming holiday season.

Come across a link during the week that could use some Burnside love? Email me!
