Blue Like Jazz opens this weekend, and we’re excited. We’re excited like these guys, who are giving away free stuff. And it’s just been brought to my attention that we’re doing the same. So…we’re, well, you know. Here’s how to win both a copy of The Way with two free tickets to Blue Like Jazz.

I want to win! I love “Blue Like Jazz.” When I used to teach Confirmation classes at All Saints Church in NE Portland, I bought copies for every teen as an end-of-year gift. I also made my atheist best friend read it and he loved it too. It’s just a beautiful, inspiring book about a city that I love and people in it who are searching for meaning. I love it so, so much.

This book was truly transformational for me. It came to me at a time that I didn’t know how much I needed a book like this! It was an incredibly refreshing read 15 years into relational ministry at Kent State University. As soon as I closed the back cover, I picked up the phone to call my friend Byron Borger at Hearts & Minds Bookstore (in Dallastown, PA) & ordered Searching for God Knows What (another fab read).

I like Blue Like Jazz. I like movies. I like free stuff.
My now husband gave me a copy of Blue Like Jazz before we were even dating. It helped me come to a place where we both wanted the same goals of being real in community and not the “perfect” Christians we grew up believing we were suppose to be. He has since given out at least five copies of the book. We currently don’t even have a copy on our book shelf!
