Burnside Gets Around
Letters from the Editor — By Kim Gottschild on July 12, 2012 at 7:01 am
We interrupt this program for two very exciting announcements!
First, as many of you may have heard, the Wild Goose Festival is expanding! In addition to their Shakori Hills, NC festival, they will now hold Wild Goose West!
Where: Benton County, Oregon
When: August 31-September 2
Why: ”In adopting the image of the Wild Goose, we recognize that in the current climate of religious, social and political cynicism, embracing the creative and open nature of our faith is perhaps our greatest asset for re-building and strengthening our relationships with each other, with our enemies, with our stories, our texts, and the earth. In that spirit, in a festive setting, and in the context of meaningful, respectful, and sustained relationships, we invite you to create with us!”
More Info: http://www.wildgoosefestival.org/west
Burnside will be fortunate enough to have a booth space at this great event. Be sure to check out the festival, and if you can make it, come to the booth to meet us! We want to meet you!
Second, STORY Chicago will take place September 20-21 at Park Community Church in downtowm Chicago. While Burnside will not have a booth at this conference, the organizers have created a special discount for burnside readers. Just enter code BURNSIDE to receive 25$ off your registration fee.
Managing Editor Kim Gottschild will be attending this event and would love to meet you. Find her on Facebook and give her a shout if you plan on attending.
